jerky, or, dog treats made at home

Saturday I made Vi some doggie jerky. well, I tried. I went to the store that morning, and as I passed by the meat counter I saw stew beef on sale. Dirt cheap. "Eat or freeze by 9/4/09." Jackpot! So I'm at home with my stew beef, perusing the internet. I would say it overall came out pretty decent. I haven't had any refusals from the pupcake. Here's what I did:

Marinate the meat. Cleaned and sliced into very small thin pieces. Put in a pot and add some:

Worcestershire sauce
Soy sauce
Molasses
Garlic powder (not too much, but vi loves garlic)
Salt
Pepper

Mix it all up and let sit in fridge for 1-2 hours
Throw it on the stove and cook it up. I saw recipes saying you want to get it above 160 degrees, but I wasn't willing to bust out the meat therm. for beef strips. So I cooked 'em till they seemed done. Just in case. Since it was not the freshest, being on sale and all. Also, the whole marinating and pre-cooking thing is supposed to reduce drying time. Spread bits out on cookie sheets and threw in 200 degree oven for 2 hours.

Chopped into little training-sized bits.
Like I said, no complaints yet!
